My youngest two boys now have to earn time on the computer, by doing activities and chores. I think its all about moderation and balance. Less computer time and more exercise and being outdoors for sure.Natalie, Idibidi Kidshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15206264662541812537noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196516311110454863.post-36710248002268539442012-05-25T06:19:13.930+08:002012-05-25T06:19:13.930+08:00Some great research there Natalie, and yes at the ...Some great research there Natalie, and yes at the end of the day we need to be realistic in what we can achieve. We will not eradicate technology from their lives, and nor should we try, but we must be stringent with boundaries and rules. We must be able to say to our kids "turn everything off" and we must be able to have them respond without the wails of protest. I believe that this needs to be set up early and as a simple case of "if you don't follow these rules, you don't play at all". The more ritual you become with everything, the more easily they will respond. After a ban on technology for my boys for a couple of weeks due to fighting over it, we laid down some strict rules that they now know they must obey if they want to play at all. And it is working. They also love the trampoline and footy and riding their scooters so we encourage all of those activities. Oh and yes of course the trampoline makes great wrestling ring! (sorry for the long comment, but it is an area I am passionate about too) :)themodernparenthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02065613449533298829noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-4196516311110454863.post-14250492780364061022012-01-25T11:48:38.137+08:002012-01-25T11:48:38.137+08:00Hi Natalie, This is great! We always say, it's a bit of exercise you don't have to beg the kids to do!! Erin from Springfree!Erin Walkerhttp://www.springfree.com.aunoreply@blogger.com
